Survivors Of Institutional Abuse Support Group
Public Group active 1 year, 5 months agoThis group has been established as a safe haven for survivors of Institutional Abuse in Ireland and the rest of the world. It is the goal of this group to provide support and a safe place where survivors are free to seek help and provide help to their peers.
In the past few years, numerous reports have been drawn up and published about abuse in religious and state run institutions in Ireland. We know that the publication of these reports (the Ryan Report, the Cloyne Report and so on) fundamentally upset those who were harmed and abused while under the care of the powers that be. We believe that offering a safe place to discuss your feelings about the reports can help to star healing the wounds cruelly and unjustly afflicted.
We also believe that providing a safe place to discuss the impact of institutional abuse on the ongoing lives of the survivors can help with the psychological healing process.
Clinically Psyched is not affiliated directly with any external group. However, we do fully support the actions and cause of Justice for Magdalenes, and other groups out there looking to see the wrongs of the past corrected with apologies and justice for survivors.
We hope very much that our little group here can help to provide support. We also hope that your contributions to this group, and to other groups can help to spur on change and justice, as well as healing for survivors and those affected.
